A LOVE AFFAIR WITH LANZAROTE

I embraced the change

Over 16 years ago, I made the leap from the Highlands of Scotland to the stunning landscapes of Lanzarote. My journey began with a holiday to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, initially inspired by my partner's suggestion that we relocate. I embraced the change and dove head first into adventure with an old Land Rover and mountain bikes on Fuerteventura, offering hiking, cycling, and 4x4 tours.

The winds of destiny (or the Canary Islands’ Alisios) then took me to beautiful La Palma, where the green landscapes of the island captured my heart. But fate had other plans, and a business trip brought me to Lanzarote. Exploring off the beaten track quickly turned into a love affair with the island, encouraging me to make it my home.

OUR MISSION

However, my journey took an unexpected turn when I fractured my back shortly after arriving. During my year-long recovery, I reflected on my past experiences in New Zealand and Canada and came up with the idea of offering similar exhilarating activities to visitors to Lanzarote.

And so Adventure Holidays Lanzarote was born.

Our core values are simple: safety comes first, closely followed by ensuring that every adventure is filled with FUN in the SUN. Throughout our years of operation, offering activities to thousands of diverse individuals, we proudly boast an impeccable safety record and countless smiles to show for it.

Why Crazy DAVID?

Crazy DAVID is more than just a name - it’s a brand.

My journey here in Lanzarote began with volunteering in the community, helping the local farmers out in their vineyards. It wasn’t long before they started calling me "DAVID El Loco", Spanish for Crazy David. The reason? Because I worked as hard as they did, without receiving a pay cheque - and they just thought I was crazy for doing it.

With Adventure Holidays Lanzarote, I have embraced the "crazy" label. Whether it’s balancing on the edge of a cliff or pushing the limits on rough terrain - resulting in several vehicle repairs each month - I aim to create unforgettable experiences for my holiday guests.

I will go the extra mile to ensure that everyone enjoys their experience. Every week I am told that I am crazy for doing so much more than any other holiday provider, but I pride myself on underpromising and overdelivering.
